Daly River Region

Population: 560

The Daly River Region is nestled between Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks in the Northern Territory of Australia, 230kms south west of Darwin (Capital of the Northern Territory) and 260km north west of Katherine. The region is home to a number of Aboriginal peoples living in various communities within the area.

The Daly River Crossing, the heart of the region, is about 110km west off the Stuart Hwy. The turnoffs are at either end of the Scenic Route, just north of Hayes Creek or just south of Adelaide River. The Daly River road can also be accessed through the Litchfield National Park with four-wheel drive during the dry season only.

The closest settlement to the Daly River Mango Farm is the Nauiyu Community. This thriving community welcomes tourists and offers traditional arts and crafts in an excellent local gallery.

Attractions and activities in and around the Daly include Merrepen Fine Art Gallery, guided fishing tours, four-wheel driving, historic sites and bushwalking. Take a day trip to Douglas Hot Springs, or visit the old Copper Mine or take a 4WD excursion into Litchfield National Park and see why the Northern Territory is renowned for it's natural wonders. We can provide maps (including GPS references) to help get you to the best locations.

A world of unique wonders to explore!

The Daly River is a picturesque tidal river and home to a myriad of wildlife. From the ancient crocodile to the majestic egret. The Daly River Mango Farm is no exception. While bushwalking through the property you can view bird life at our picturesque billabong. Or sit in wait to catch a glimpse of wallabies who come to drink at the lily covered waterhole at sundown.

The river itself is home to both salt and fresh water crocodiles. Since becoming protected these huge reptiles have reclaimed a place in the life of the Daly.

And don't forget that other famous inhabitant of the Daly, the mighty Barramundi.
